Another beautiful thing of today is dirt. I know that sounds odd, but I walked past a lot of people out in their gardens today, and I love that smell of fresh soil. It reminds me of seeds and worms and bulbs, like the time I brought tulip bulbs for show-and-tell day at preschool. I can't wait someday to have my own garden. I love planting seeds and watching them grow. I love planting flower seeds that come as a mixed pack and not knowing what's inside and scattering them in the wind, like throwing birdseed. I love pulling out potatoes from deep in the soil, like digging for treasure and not knowing how many I'll find. Sometimes they grow in compost piles from old potatoes, and that is always an exciting surprise!
