Today we walked all over town in our blindfolds for theatre class- half of us blindfolded, the other half acting as guides. The world is so very different from underneath a blindfold! It felt a little like being a toddler experiencing sensations for the first time, just without sight- the rough skin of a lemon; the old soapy smell of a laundromat; the wet stickiness of a blob of soapy bubbles in my hands; the sudden levitating feeling of riding an elevator; the buttery taste of parsnip soup and delicately sweet corn cakes: the sounds of buoyant laughter, and the feeling of someone nearby gently leading me to each new terrain. Then at the end, when I removed the blindfold, I felt almost like a new person. It was cool!
